How do I change my cPanel password?
|
If you cannot log into your cPanel account because your password is not working, you can have a new password emailed to you from the cPanel login page or from your billing account. But if you are able to log into cPanel, you can change your password with the Change Password feature, located on the cPanel home page. Follow these steps to change your password:
To generate a new random password, click on the Generate Password link. This will allow you to randomly generate a new password that utilizes a mix of letters, numbers and symbols. When you enter in a password of your choosing, cPanel will rate the strength of the given password. The strength is determined by the length of the password and the variation of characters that you enter. A longer password, with a greater mix of letters, numbers and symbols will be much harder to guess for someone trying to break into your account. After changing your password, cPanel may ask you to log in again before moving to another section. |
